Make Life Easier!

For school supplies and uniforms:

I bought two of those plastic 4 drawer on wheel
containers on sell at either Kmart or Walmart. I
labled each drawer for my 4 school age/sports age
children. One set of the drawers is for uniforms for
the scouts/sports that they are currently in. I found
this keeps the uniforms from getting lost among their
other clothes.
The second set of drawers is for school supplies.
Each child's drawer contains everything they need for
school, paper, scissors, crayons, pencils, pens,
markers, glue etc... They are responsible for taking
out of the drawer what they need at school as they run
out of it at school. I check it each week and replace
what they use as needed. This has saved on last
minute trips to the "all night" store to purchase
things they forgot to tell me they ran out of at
school. They are also allowed to use these supplies
when needed to complete their homework. They are not
allowed to touch anybody elses supplies and they are
responsible if their supplies "get lost".

For Socks:

I purchased mesh bags (I think I paid a dollar a piece for them at walmart). The kids are to keep their mesh bags where they can find them. They place their dirty socks in
the bags which can then be thrown into the wash with
the socks still inside them. This saves on the dryer
eating the socks. Another thing I've learned is all
socks that are bought are white and of a "like" nature
so that we really don't have to worry about
non-matching or odd socks.
